I didn't really care for her ending up with Jake in the end, after he essentially kidnapped her and terrorized her the way he did, but then again, she did talk about Stockholm Syndrome and how "I would never let that happen to me" so perhaps it made more sense. Having Robbie as the killer made it too perfect.Īs for it all being a movie, I was okay with that twist, I didn't mind that part. I would've preferred the Campus Killer just be left unknown, because as Charlie said sometimes you don't know who killed your best friend, and that would've been a more realistic ending. Once it was revealed that Marge was bad (although I kinda saw that coming with her "there's a special place in hell for women who don't look out for each other" line, I had a feeling she knew about Maddy), and Josh/Jake was actually good, I just knew "yep, Robbie's the killer". I just finished this today, and I also predicted Robbie being the killer around halfway too. Her twist was the only thing that surprised me. 🤷🏼♀️ And someone who thought Charlie should fall in love with Josh after he kidnapped her and exploited her mental state. But that may have been a little too in-depth of psychology for someone who also decided that Charlie's hallucinations - caused by the trauma of losing her parents, and exacerbated by the trauma of losing her best friend - would be magically cured by the lovely healing powers of having your life in danger multiple times in one short time span. Also, I thought maybe Charlie couldn't remember who she saw because her brain simply didn't want to acknowledge that it was Robbie. Plus we know he disliked Maddy from him trying to convince Charlie that they weren't friends, she was just Maddy's audience. So that leaves the only other male character - Robbie. Surely they wouldn't leave that mystery unsolved. But not pliers.įrom there, I thought it would be pretty unsatisfying if we never find out who the Campus Killer is. But way before that, when we get that brief bit of his POV, he makes sure he has his trusty tools like his handcuffs, Swiss Army knife, and a gag. I wasn't sure who he was, but I was 90% sure he was going to turn out to not be it, which was cemented to 100% when he asks Charlie how much she knows and she says "pretty much everything," then never confirms what she supposedly knows.
Chiefly, I was skeptical about Josh/Jake being the killer. I guessed Robbie as the killer for a couple reasons.
